#PunchNews has reported that, oil and gas companies operating in #Nigeria🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 #flared a total of #85.81 billion standard cubic feet of #naturalgas in the first three months of the year, causing #Nigeria an estimated loss of #N72.41bn.
Data obtained by Punch correspondent from the #NNPC Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation showed that 31.68 billion scf of gas was flared in January; 27.25 billion scf, in February; and 26.88 billion scf in March.
One way to monetise flare gas, is through the use of micro and mini LPG/LNG/CNG Plants.
It is a good thing, the National Gas Policy provides for Domestic uses of LNG:
Uses of #LPG/LNG/CNG
LPG/LNG/CNG as a fuel for heavy duty vehicles, Buses and Taxis;
LPG/LNG/CNG for Shipping and Rail;
LPG/LNG/CNG for Agriculture
LPG/LNG/CNG for Power;
LPG/LNG/CNG as a gas source where no pipeline gas is available;
LPG/LNG/CNG as a backup supply for natural gas pipeline network;
LPG/LNG/CNG to store Gas about to be flared, which will be used to fuel power plants serving host communities.
LPG/LNG/CNG as a fuel for heavy duty vehicles, Buses and Taxis.
